| Setting Dreamweaver's General Preferences by Geoff Blake (posted May 17, 2006) |

Use And In Place Of And : This option will determine which code tags Dreamweaver will use when the bold ( or ) or italics ( or ) buttons are used on the Property Inspector to format text. The World Wide Web Consortium (the guys who hold the web design rule book) encourage the use of and over and . Use CSS Instead Of HTML Tags: By default, Dreamweaver uses Cascading Style Sheets to format text. However, you may wish to use the older method of formatting with HTML coding, in which case you’d uncheck this option. CSS is becoming the standard, so it’s probably best to leave this on. Maximum Number Of History Steps: This lets you set how many steps the History panel will track, thus the number of undos. Keep in mind that the higher the setting, the more system resources Dreamweaver will need. [ Back to Web + Mag Articles ] [ Go to page: 1 | 2 ] |
