Changing Up Dreamweaver’s Font Combinations by Geoff Blake (posted May 17, 2006)

You may find Dreamweaver’s list of font combinations a little sparse for your liking. In fact, if you’re used to working with a word processor or a desktop publishing program, you might find the font list down right lame. However, Dreamweaver’s trying to do you a favor here by only offering up fonts that are common on most computer systems. That being said, you can always modify the font list and add any additional fonts that you’d like to use.

Here’s how to get started:

  1. Choose Text > Font > Edit Font List.

  1. To edit an existing font combination, choose it from the Font List window. If you’d like to create a custom font combination, make sure that Add Fonts In List Below is selected in the Font List window.
  2. Use the direction arrows at the bottom of the dialog box to move fonts into and out of the Chosen Fonts and Available Fonts lists.
  3. Click OK when you’re done.

Dreamweaver adds your selected fonts to the font list. Keep in mind that if you choose to edit Dreamweaver’s font list, you run the risk of your fonts not displaying properly on your visitor’s computer. A better approach might be to use Flash Text instead.
