| Pickin’ Favorites In The Assets Panel by Geoff Blake (posted May 17, 2006) |

If you’re working on a large site, or a site that uses a lot of images, colors, and other assets, sorting through and finding the page component you’re after can be a real chore. Thankfully, Dreamweaver's Assets panel is on the case. The Assets panel comes in two flavors: Site mode and Favorites mode. The Site mode displays all the readable assets for your site, while Favorites mode will only list those assets that you’ve added to your favorites list. Building a favorites list makes finding the images, URLs, and colors that you use most often much easier to find. As you begin building a list of favorites, you can make use of two dandy features: You can use folders to help keep organized, and you can give your assets nicknames so you can find them easily. Here’s how it all works:
A pop up window appears letting you know that the asset has been copied to your list of favorites. You might get tired of clicking OK if you’re adding a lot of assets, so use the Don’t Show Me This Message Again checkbox.
Note: If you’d like to add an asset to your favorites right in the Files panel, try right-clicking on the file and choosing Add To Favorites.
You can still use the category buttons down the left side of the panel, but now you can organize your assets in folders, and give them a descriptive nickname
You can even create sub-folders by dragging a folder icon into another folder.
