Hello! I teach interactive media at a high school near Akron, Ohio. Your book is a refreshing approach to Dreamweaver. So many Dreamweaver books are, well, really boring. Especially valuable is your advice on setting up folders before creating content. When my students don't do that, their site quickly becomes a mess o' files. Question: The image on top of page 238 shows a URL of "File:///C|/Websites..." and so forth. Is it written this way because the page hasn't been saved? Shouldn't all the "File:///C|" and so forth be gone? Thanks, too, for the warning about the Side of Scrag... Rich Thanks for your email, Rich! Glad to hear you're enjoying Ten Ton Dreamweaver. You hit the nail on the head: A refreshing approach to Dreamweaver. There are obviously a lot of books about DW out there already, but I really wanted to make something fun and entertaining, while also informative. Regarding your question, yes you are correct. The file on page 238 has not been saved—which is actually a no-no (I always suggest to save your work first, then go and set hyperlinks, insert graphics, etc). Unfortunately, in the rush to meet deadlines, corners sometimes get cut...then teachers with keen eyes make a catch! A very nice catch, I might add. Congratulations, you've won dinner for two at my parents house! Boy will they be surprised when you arrive! -Geoff
Hi Geoff, I wanted to thank you for the great Dreamweaver course this past Monday and Tuesday. I had a great time and learned so much really useful stuff. I enjoyed all the extra tips in Photoshop and the web browsers. Terhi Great to hear you enjoyed the Dreamweaver class, Terhi. I love throwing in info about Photoshop, web browsers, and anything else I can, 'cuz web design is so much more than just Dreamweaver! See you in the advanced class!
